Does AppleCare+ cover a lost MacBook 70W USB-C Power Adapter AC plug?

Hi everyone,

I have a MacBook with the 70W USB-C Power Adapter, and I've lost the small detachable AC plug (the "duckhead" that clips onto the adapter). The charger brick itself is fine — I just don't have the plug piece anymore.

I have AppleCare+ on this Mac. Does AppleCare+ cover a replacement for a lost duckhead, or does it only cover defective parts? Has anyone gotten one replaced this way?

I'm in Canada (Ontario) if that matters. Thanks in advance!

AppleCare+ does not cover theft or loss on Mac computers or included accessories. Only for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

You can find replacement duckheads on Amazon & other retailers for less than $10 USD.

You may even want to consider the Power Adapter Extension Cable - Apple

the 3-prong extension cord is universal if you have an old one laying around. I prefer to always use the grounded plug compared to the duckhead alone.

eBay for used

walmart, best buy, etc may all have the stand alone duck head as an option to buy
