Cases with Magnetic Closure

I know this may sound silly, but I've hear a rumor that a phone case with a "magnetic" closure can really mess up the iPhone4. Anyone have this experience?

24" IMAC, 2.66 Ghz, 640GB HD, 4GB Ram, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I use a case with a magnetic clasp and haven't had any problems. I do place my iPhone in the case with the screen away from the clasp, because I noticed a strange smudge pattern where the magnet is. It probably isn't caused by the magnet, but it solved the smudge problem.

I also use a case with magnetic closures and have not experienced any problems.
