How do I identify the owner of an unknown AirTag found in my vehicle?

Got message that my phone picked up airtag. I used my phone to locate airtag in my vehicle. I have never had airtags. I showed my driving routes and where parked. When I put phone over top it it shows that its a NFC Tag but when I tap on to pull up[ website i get " Page not found. I have serial number but still cant het the info on who originally set it up. If battery has been removed, does that erase all information?
