I have a Brother MFC. I received a message that I will need Rosseta firmware for the next upgrade of the ios. I have looked all over Brother's site for the upgrade and can't find it. They don't show any "contact us" info so I can ask them. Is anyone else looking for something similar? I am running Mac OS Tahoe 26.6.2. My iMac is a 2021 version with a M1 chip.

Which model Brother MFC please. Many Brother model multifunction devices are AirPrint-enabled and do not require drivers. If it requires a driver that requires Rosetta, it will continue to work with macOS 27 "Golden Gate".

Rosetta is not firmware. It is software provided by Apple. If Rosetta 2 is not already installed, and you try to run a Mac application built for Intel processors, your Mac will offer to download Rosetta.
Apple plans to drop support for Rosetta 2 in macOS 28. So, under macOS 28 and later, Intel-only applications will become as dead as doornails. For now, you may get warnings when you run Intel-based applications under Tahoe and Golden Gate, but you will still be allowed to do it.
