Audio project bounces as AIFF with normalization enabled despite settings

Hi, I have been working on this project for a while and it has always bounced as a wav and normalize has been off. but now no matter if i change the file type or turn normalize off, the project bouncing as AIFF and i can hear normalizing it on because the project is now so quiet. i have reset my preferences etc but it feels no matter what i do the settings are frozen like this-i tried on other projects too and its the same thing
