How do I find a compatible charger for my iPad 6th generation?

"Fits" where? The connection to the iPad? Do you have a cable? I am not sure whether you need the charger block, a cable, or both.

Your iPad has a Lightning connector/port for charging. That model shipped with a 1m Lightning to USB-A cable like this:

and a 10W or 12W USB-A charger like this.

Apple does not sell them any more but there are hundreds of options out there. I found a bunch on Amazon, both Apple-branded and aftermarket.

If you can only find a charger with a USB-C port, you can still get a Lightning to USB-C cable like those shown here on Amazon.

If I've missed something, please elaborate.

Most models of iPad, including your iPad6, require a Power Adapter rated at 12W (i.e. 2.4A @5V) or greater to reliably charge. 5W Power Adapters (1.0A @5V) intended for older models of iPhone are inadequate to charge an iPad; if the iPad charges at all, charging will be very slow.

Many recent models of iPad are supplied with an Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter. An Apple 20W USC-C Power Adapter would be ideal for your iPad. Other more Power Adapters with greater power output will be perfectly usable with your iPad, but will offer no immediate benefit; your iPad6 will not charge any quicker.

You should note that Apple no longer markets any Power Adapters that use the older style (rectangular) USB Type-A connection. If purchasing a replacement Power Adapter with a USB-C connection, to charge your iPad6 that has a Lighting connection, will also require a USB-C to Lightning charging cable:

How do you know the Lightning port on the iPad is "undamaged"? The black cable (Lightning connector) in your picture is clearly damaged with the entire front edge being broken off. It's entirely possible that the broken piece is possibly stuck inside the iPad's Lightning port or has damaged the iPad's Lightning port internally before falling out.

I would take it in to an Apple Store or other Apple Authorized Service Provider for inspection and *possible* retrieval of the broken piece from the iPad's Lightning port.

With that being said, the cost for repair would be better used towards a new iPad.

I'd have to agree. Given the shape of the connector on the black cable, there may be something odd going on with the port on the iPad.

Perhaps part of the black cable is stuck inside and while thew black one fits, no other cable would.

I would verify if there's anything in the iPad's port and try to carefully dislodge it with a wooden or plastic toothpick. And of that fails, then take it into an Apple Store. It's unknown however if the Apple store would be willing to fix such an old iPad.

That model number corresponds to an Apple USB-C to Lightning cable, not an iPad specifically.

Any USB-C charger will work with that cable's USB-C side and by extension the iPad it connects to on the Lightning side.

If you have a specific issues with the cable or the iPad,. please clarify what that is.

A picture of the cable or iPad port would also be helpful.

juging from your image then your cable connector looks a bit damaged, and if it fits and other new cables do not fit then maybe it's a question of the connector in your ipad may be damaged or contain dirt / debris that makes normal connectors not fit.

The black cable is a 3rd party lightning cable which is why it's slightly different to the official Apple Cable. That connector should fit in the iPad's charging port regardless.

The power adapter, charger or power brick is the thing you plug into a wall socket and then you plug a cable into.

Are you saying that connector does not fit in your iPad?

The other side of the cable should have a connector that fits into regular power adapters.

To charge your iPad you plug the side in your picture into your iPad's port, and the other side into probably a USB port of some kind on a power adapter.

Are you looking for a power adapter that can accommodator the black cable?

If so, you'll need to tell us what the other side of the cable looks like.

Good catch Serg. Something, most likely the cable, has to be broken. The opening for the cable on the iPad can’t shrink no matter how old the iPad is.
