iMovie cuts screen recordings short when imported

I made screen recordings and am combining them in iMovie. I have a 28 second clip, but when I attempt to drag it into iMovie, it cuts the clip to 1.9 seconds. I cannot extend it. I noticed it cut off the last 5-10 seconds of my other clips as well. When I open them in QuickTime Player, it shows the whole thing. I tried exporting the videos but it still is only allowing the 1.9 second clip. I tried resetting my preferences using Option+Command. I cannot find anything else online about this issue.
