Apple Watch workout and step data inconsistent in Health app
Hello,
This is my first time posting on the Apple Community forum. I am doing so because I am currently very frustrated with the way my Apple Watch is syncing with the iPhone Health app. I encountered several issues today, and I am trying to understand whether this is a known problem.
Issue #1: Outdoor Walk
This morning, I started an Outdoor Walk on my Apple Watch, as I do every day.
For some unknown reason, the workout was recorded correctly, but the watch did not register the distance walked or the number of steps.
As shown in the attached screenshot :
The workout started at 08:17 and ended at 08:31, but both distance and step data are missing.
Strangely, when I started another Outdoor Walk at 08:47, everything started working normally again.
Issue #2: Step count
I also believe this issue may have disrupted the step count for the entire day.
I am currently seeing three different values:
- iPhone Health app overview: 264 steps
- Inside the Health app: more than 9,000 steps
- Apple Watch : +7,600 steps
These values are completely inconsistent.
From what I can tell, my Apple Watch and iPhone suddenly stopped syncing step data correctly this morning for no apparent reason.
This has happened before, but this time it was really the last straw.
I have already tried restarting both the Apple Watch and the iPhone, but it did not fix the issue.
Is this a known problem? Is there any known fix or workaround ?
It does not happen very often, but when it does, I have not found any reliable way to correct it.
