Mac account locks after invalid password attempts in corporate environments
Dear Apple,
Please remove the feature that locks an account after invalid password attempts. I was locked out of my work laptop while cleaning the keyboard. This is an outdated security practice. Since any button can now turn on the Mac it can be triggered by accident too often.
Additionally, corporate Entra domain Macs cannot be reset using the standard Apple password reset method, which causes further frustration. A two-factor challenge would be a more effective alternative to mandatory waiting time that just keeps on increasing with every attempt. This feature is unnecessary , archaic and should be removed from Apple devices and definitely for corporate users.
