Do I need the same PIN unlock code for Apple Passkeys on iPhone 16 Pro and Mac mini?

Re: New to Passkey setup. I have different unlock codes on my iPhone 16 Pro and my Mac minis. Do I have to use the same PIN unlock code on both devices to use Apple Passkeys? I can't use either Touch ID or Face ID.

No. Your iPhone passcode and Mac login password don’t need to be the same to use passkeys.

Passkeys sync through iCloud Keychain when the devices use the same Apple Account and Passwords & Keychain is enabled.

If Face ID isn’t set up on the iPhone, you can use the iPhone’s device passcode instead. On a Mac mini without Touch ID, choose Other Options > Passkey from nearby device and use your iPhone, or use a compatible security key.
