No

The important point is that A1398 covers several 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro generations, from 2012 through 2015.

Apple lists their newest officially supported macOS versions as follows: (Apple Support)

A1398 version

Newest official macOS

Sonoma 14?

Mid-2012

macOS Catalina

Early 2013

macOS Catalina

Late 2013

So no A1398 MacBook Pro officially supports macOS Sonoma 14.

No. MacBook Pro model A1398 covers older 15-inch Retina models, and none of them are officially compatible with macOS Sonoma.

Apple’s Sonoma compatibility list starts with the 2018 MacBook Pro models.

You can check the exact year of yours under Apple menu > About This Mac. That will determine the newest macOS version Apple supports for your particular A1398.
