Magic Mouse (lightning port) isn't charging at all

my Magic Mouse (lightning port) isn't charging, I linked the usb-c port at my MacBook Air (Tahoe 26), and the lightning port at my Magic Mouse, turned it on and waited for hours, but the battery percentage isn't increasing at all, it stays at 40%.

i also tried charging it with a standard charger but it's not charging anyways.

the mouse works properly, so I suspect the issue is the cable, I don't have the original one (because I lost it huh), so I bought a cable that has the same ports, but the cable is fine even if it's not the original apple one, so I really don't know how to fix this.

After connecting the cable from your mouse to the Mac, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. Do you see that the mouse text is grey and its icon show a lightning bolt?

The original cable was a USB-A to Lightning cable, if memory serves. Did you get the same type of cable and use a USB-A to USB-C adapter? Or did you get a USB-C to Lightning cable?

If the former, try another adapter. If the latter, try another cable.
