I am working on a motion graphics animation in Final Cut. I have a text element, and I'd like to add a camera movement downwards, whereby the top text starts at the centre of the frame, and then the camera pans down from it, following the white line and revealing the bottom text (see attachment). Is such a thing possible within Final Cut?
I'd put two text templates inside a Compound Clip (sized twice as tall as your normal timeline).
Position them as desired.
In your main Timeline, you can now keyframe the vertical movement of the Compound Clip, both titles will move together smoothly and evenly.
What Ben said; or you could also create the above image in a still image program like Pixelmator Pro (again, make it twice as tall as your frame); set the Spatial Conform to None, and use the Transform tools just as Ben suggested.
