AirTag not in Items list on Mac

For general accessories like AirPods and AirTags, they do not appear in your main device list, only in the find my app. If it does not appear there you can try to reset it and then remove and re-add it to your account. I was wondering the same when I setup my AirPods Pro 3 so I know exactly what you mean.

Please try this

• Check iCloud Account Sync: Ensure you are signed into the exact same Apple Account on both your iPhone and your iMac.
• Force a Refresh in Find My on Mac: Open the Find My app on your iMac, go to the Items tab, and press Cmd + R or drag down/click to refresh the view.
• Toggle iCloud Keychain & Two-Factor Authentication: On your Mac, go to System Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Passwords and Keychain and make sure it is turned on.
• Restart the Mac: A quick restart of your iMac can force Find My to re-sync with iCloud.

I agree. I found it odd that you must use the Find My app on a Mac to view the "Items" tab as it did not appear when using the iCloud version of Find My via a web browser on that same Mac.

Per chance, when you set up this AirTag 2 with your iPhone, was that phone running iOS 26.2.1 or newer?
