Siri playing Fox News for an update?

Why is Siri giving top news from Fox News instead of NPR now? This is in response to the prompt "read the latest news". Used to be NPR.

How do I change that?

Looks like Apple’s not providing any option to control news sources for one’s Daily Update. I read earlier today via MacWorld that’s Siri’s new connection through Google eliminated the NPR News feed. Apple apparently isn’t responding to comments or complaints about it. Guess I’m going to eliminate the “news” portion of Daily Update until there’s a better option.

To paraphrase Hanlan's Razor, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by software bugs."

I haven't tried it on my Home Pod yet today. However, when I asked for a "Daily Briefing with NPR News" on my iPhone just now, it gave me the briefing. However, i did have to confirm after it gave me my calendar and the weather, that I wanted it to play the NPR headines. If I just asked it for a "Daily Briefing," it didn't offer any news at all.

I have updated to iOS 27 and Siri AI. I was impressed with how much better the briefing was for my personal information. It gave a better summary of my calendar and pulled some information from my email as well.
