Apple Music app on Windows not playing FLAC files from library

Playback flac music on windows apple music app on Windows 11?

Hello,

I only have flac music on my windows PC. If I right click on a flac file, I can select play back with apple music. The file plays fine. I don't have any converted files in other formats.

My apple music app has all my folders added and lists all the files - yet when I click on a folder in playlists or a file within a playlist on the app it doesn't play. Since I can right click on a file in explorer and play back in music player, it seems like I should be able to playback this same way.

On my old Windows PC I had itunes playing flac direct so I'm thinking there has to be a way within apple music.
