Anyone experiencing Magic Keyboard issues for iPad Pro after installing iPadOS27?

Yes, I’ve been experiencing similar issues. I’ve noticed odd input disconnects where the keyboard is mostly working but clicking a button stops working, yet I’m still able to move the mouse around on the trackpad. I’ve found that removing my iPad Pro from the magic keyboard and then re-seating it seems to help reset things.

I haven’t seen it where input totally stops and the on-screen keyboard appears but the number of input issues I’ve been having post upgrade to iPadOS 27 is much higher than when on 26.

I’ve been having issues with the Tab key not actually switching fields or changing paragraphs, instead it was acting like a left-click. Only have about an hour or so of use on 27 so far. I’ve disconnected the keyboard, restarted the apps, reset the iPad, and it seems to randomly switch between working correctly and not. There is a workaround for Tab at least, if this is happening to you press option+Tab and it will work as intended.

When using external keyboard, you can trigger a Screenshot from the keyboard.

• Command ⌘ + Shift + 3: Captures the screen and immediately saves it to your Photos app.
• Command ⌘ + Shift + 4: Captures the screen and immediately opens the Markup tool so you can crop, draw, or annotate the image before saving

These are consistent with those used with iPadOS 26.

You'll note that Command ⌘ + Tab allows you to switch between recently used Apps.

Also be aware that you can access context-relevant menus (that show the equivalent key-shortcuts) from the new top-menu bar. Simply tap the window name at top-left of the iPad screen to expose the top menu, then open the associated menu to see a menu items along with their equivalent keyboard shortcuts.

Started happening after updating to iOS27

Doesn't work:

• cmd + space to show Siri
• cmd + tab to switch between apps
• cmd+shift+4 to take a screenshot
• volume up/down, brightness up/down or any other top-row keyboard key

does work:

• cmd + tab to open a new tab in safari works
• typing in the safari address bar to enter a website works
• caps-lock on/off works
• esc works

The same symptoms are reproduced when using the iPad as a sidecar paired with macbook and using macbook keyboard.

I am also experiencing issues with the MagicKeyboard and iPad Pro starting since update to IOS27.

For me the typing entry does not work when editing Apple calendar Notes.

Have tried rebooting, cleaning etc no change.

For me it is a horror show. The onscreen keyboard shows up When I have my Magic keyboard attached and it shows every time I Switch apps

It is driving me crazy. If I go to a specific app it shows up, then I minimize it and I can Use the external kb. Then I switch to another app and it appears again. The same When on desktop and search.

It started after update to 27.0 or 27.0.1, not sure

I've also had this issue since iPadOS 27 came out, and even after the most recent update iPadOS 27.2. However, I seemed to have somehow fixed it (so far) by going into Settings > General > Keyboard and turning off all the switches under "All Keyboards." Once I did that, the onscreen keyboard stopped popping up when the Magic Keyboard was connected.

I thought that maybe having some of the settings on like Predictive Text or Slide on Floating Keyboard to Type might be making it want to pop up. I was even able to turn the switches back on after that and it's still working correctly now.

Since update to 27.2 yesterday, the attached Apple external keyboard no longer presents accented letters on long press, e.g., for é è à etc. Still works on the onscreen keyboard and the option key sequence works on the external but it’s too much to remember and inconvenient for typing in, say, French, with many grave accented a and e. If the Accessibility setting for key repeat is on, the keys repeat ; if off, neither repeat nor accents. Has anyone else experienced this ? Been able to fix it ?

I have the exact same issue. I had to reboot it, but after a few days or hours, those key combination stopped working. iPadOs 27
