Mission Control on MacOS27

I tried the same solution, but it is only temporary. As soon as my Mac sleeps, and you wake the Mac again right back to the same nonsense. Same goes for using Terminal and "killall Dock"

This problem is affecting both my Macs and was immediately seen after the install of macOS 27.

Booting into safe mode, and letting my Mac go to sleep, yields the same issue unfortunately after waking the Mac.

Forgot to note the things that I have done that still haven't resolved the issue:

Deleting various .plist didn't work... at least for long.

Safe mode, creating a new user.

While the main Mission Control issues are absent when I have everything disconnected(my only peripheral my dock and my monitors), that is not very acceptable. In addition the split screen bugs are still present in the single monitor config.

Also used Onyx to remove/reset check stuff, no dice.

After waking up my mac from sleep control plus arrow left right switch desktops but not control plus number.

In mission control the keys are still active. After reboot everything is normal again until a new sleep and wake circle. Normaly my mac seldom reboots outside of a system update.

same behaviour for me. ive reported with feedback assistant since one of the early betas and still not fixed. I am really hoping that this is a bug and not intended behaviour, but it really begs the question as to how its possible that nobody working on this new OS has used mission control before release day to not notice this obvious of an issue...

Well, it is also entirely possible that the problems reported do not affect everyone. Both of my Macs do not exhibit any of these problems with Mission Control. One is an M2 MacBook Pro. The other is an M4 Mini.

I don’t use Full Screen, and I don’t let it auto-arrange Desktops. If the problem is tied to those use cases, I wouldn’t see the issues. I tried replicating the Full Screen issue and couldn’t. But, if it requires long-term use of Full Screen, I’ll never see it because I find Full Screen fully useless.

I'm having issues with the direct-switching keyboard shortcuts. For pretty much as long as workspaces have been a thing on macs, I've used F1, F2, F3 and F4 for switching between the spaces directly. The default ctrl-arrow shortcuts work.

Now only F1 works. The other buttons do nothing. I've tried to reset the shortcuts to something else and back, rebooting, etc, nothing works. This is seriously annoying. =/

We do know how it used to work. I'm sorry that my post was too oblique for you to follow.

Perhaps you would like to enlighten us all... I'm not at level 10, but I have been using Macs since 1985, and Mission Control since it was introduced about a decade and a half ago.

I may be obtuse, but I do not see what has changed in Mission Control from Tahoe to Golden Gate.

People reporting that they do not have the same problem as the original poster is not "bringing down" anyone. It's sharing observations. That can be useful. If most people are not having the problem, that narrows things down a little. It's less likely to be a bug in the OS itself but more likely to be something about the users' set up (e.g. third-party apps, particular settings, third-party peripherals).

Yes but some people are accusing others of blaming Apple instead of troubleshooting their Mac. That is very unfair IMO as many people have no idea how to troubleshoot or may have tried their best and come here for help, not criticism.

When people come here and insist that the problem is the update, it's very hard to help them.

Mission control in my computer has 2 big problems: no miniatures - so I can't see what's going on in any of the desktops - and sometimes the cursor disappears. This is quite annoying. Please fix it as soon as possible.

WELL, I spoke too soon. After few tests and few hours it worked for a while and it stopped. All settings were gone, upon reboot all automatically launched apps piled up on desktop1 on top of each other. I conclude after more testing yesterday Apple has laid an egg, an Emu size of egg. I guess we will have live this way till next update comes out in few weeks, hopefully fixing those problems.

What happened when you tried the recommended troubleshooting steps of booting in safe mode and creating a new user account?

For me, new user account running in safe mode and my keyboard shortcuts still don't work after the Mac has been woken from sleep and the assigned desktop for apps reverts to none. Very annoying as I use multiple desktops all the time. For clarity it is only the ctrl number shortcuts that don't work, ctrl left/right arrow works fine for switching between desktops.

This is also affecting my son's Mac.
