Will my iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-order be cancelled due to delayed pickup?

I want to pre-order the iPhone 18 Pro Max for in-store pickup, and the available date is September 20th; however, I will only be in the US on September 28th. Can I pick it up on that date, or will the order be cancelled due to the timeframe?

My understanding is Apple will hold an order in store for 7 days and return the device to inventory if not picked up by then. If you can't be available to pick up the phone, designate someone you know to pick it up for you.

Also, if you don't live in the US, you really shouldn't buy your phone in the US. Apple Warranty for iPhone may be limited to the country of purchase. If you need a warranty replacement in your home country, you may be denied, meaning you'd have to travel back to the US. Any savings you may get by buying your phone in the US, will likely evaporate and then some.

Your best bet would be to contact the store directly and speak with a member of the management team. A manager has the authority to hold a device for pickup beyond the customary time period by a few days. Here is a link to Apple's worldwide warranty.

You may have to ship, at your expense, the device to one of Apple's regional service centers. There can be parts delays and loaners are not available.

Since we're sharing warranty links they might also want to see Apple's Legal iOS Warranty --> Legal - iOS Warranty Document Us - Apple

Which includes this Important Restriction:

"IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV, HOMEPOD, AND APPLE VISION PRO SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple Vision Pro to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device."

Yes, the link says the same thing my link says. Last time I looked iPhones are portable devices.

I'm not going to argue with you, Jeff. Personally, I would trust Apple's very specific Legal language about iOS warranties. In the best interest of the customer, I want to at least inform them that iOS based device warranties "may" be limited to the country of purchase. You can post what you want and I can as well.
