Why no update to Golden Gate?
My desktop iMac has an M1 chip, and currently running Tahoe. Why am I not being offered an update to Golden Gate?

Did you open System Settings and go to General > Software Update? Or are you just waiting for it to prompt you to update by itself?
There is something seriously wrong with your current installation and I doubt a bootable installer would have any better luck. You may wind up having to perform a complete erase and install. Make sure you have a complete backup of your data before considering this.
I've been trying to trigger (and install) GG on my M2 MacBook Air since public release on the 14th. I have plenty of disc space. I've toggled auto updates multiple times. Restarted many times. I even downloaded the golden gate installer using terminal. It starts the install and then stops after 1 or 2 minutes. I've left the installer running overnight just to be sure. I've even tried it in safe mode with the same result. I would try a bootable installer but I currently don't own an external drive big enough. Before I go buy one, is there something else I can try? Thanks for any advice.
I did the former.
It's offering me GG now - problem solved - thanks KiltedTim
Thanks. I do have a complete backup. I may give that a try.
