Shortcuts no longer work from Control Center after updating to iOS 27

Since updating to the public release of iOS 27 on September 14, shortcuts launched from Control Center no longer execute properly.

For example:

A shortcut that switches the cellular data line between SIM/eSIM plans does not work.
Even a very simple shortcut that sets the volume to 0% does not work when launched from Control Center.

However, the exact same shortcuts work correctly when:

Run directly from the Shortcuts app
Run from the Shortcuts widget
Triggered by a Personal Automation

Everything worked normally on the previous iOS version.

I should also mention that I have a Screen Time limit enabled for App Shortcuts, but I haven’t encountered this issue in previous versions.

This makes it look like the issue is specifically with Control Center → Run Shortcut in iOS 27, rather than with the shortcuts themselves.

Has anyone else experienced this since updating to iOS 27? Is there a workaround?

Yes, I also have the same problem. I put time limit to Shortcuts to avoid getting notifications but if you do that you can’t access Shortcuts from control center so you have to completely remove the time limit from the Shortcuts app then it works for me. You mentioned this wasn’t a problem in the previous iOS versions so I think Apple changed their mechanism here.

I suggest removing them from Control Center and adding them back.

I have no issue running a Shortcut directly from Control Center on iOS 27. As shown in the picture below, the Shortcut runs normally when launched from Control Center.

The issue you are describing may therefore not be related to iOS 27 or the Control Center itself. It could be caused by an incorrect command or action used within the Shortcut, or by the way the Shortcut has been configured.

To troubleshoot this accurately, we need to see the exact command/action used in the Shortcut and the steps you followed to create or run it. It’s probably because “Optimizing Search and Siri” is still showing up. I have an automation that reads my emails based on certain filters, and it’s no longer working because the search bar in the Mail app is currently broken.

That's qute possible. My iPhone 17 Pro finished optimizing sometime late yesterday, for what it's worth.

I just updated my iPad to iPadOS 27 a few days ago and a simple shortcut doesn’t work. My shortcut is to split screen two apps (TEAMS and Outlook) but I always get an error. I have deleted the shortcut and recreated it but nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s frustrating that they keep bragging about “major updates” when all they’ve really done is round a button, and then somehow manage to add even more bugs instead of fixing the existing ones. Every “major update” just seems to bring a whole new set of problems. If I’d known my Control Center shortcuts wouldn’t work anymore, I never would’ve updated to iOS 27.
