Incoming calls are private

If every incoming call on your iPhone 12 appears as “Private,” “No Caller ID,” or “Unknown,” even when the caller is in your Contacts, the issue is usually with the carrier/network’s caller-ID information, rather than the iPhone itself.

Try these in order:

1. Check whether it happens with all callers.
   1. Ask someone you know to call you. If their number also appears as Private, it points strongly to a carrier/network issue.
2. Restart the iPhone. This can refresh the cellular network registration.
3. Check for a carrier settings update: Settings → General → About

4. Check your cellular line: Settings → Cellular → your SIM/number
