iPhone 14 Pro events not syncing from MacBook Air

Connecting an iphone (14 pro, ios 18.7.) directly to a laptop (MBAir 15.7.9) with a cable and syncing does NOT add events from the laptop to the phone. Contacts do seem to sync, but I am now not confident about ALL of events and contacts making it back and forth. is there a place to check the sync logs on either device?
