Cannot get or find carplay app to add home address in car

I am trying to connect my new address which is in Apple Maps on my phone to my car. The system does not recognize our address, I cannot locate screen time or carplay to see if that app is on my phone, and the car and phone do not talk to each other. I tried SYNC to download contacts but cannot find sync to do this for the apple maps. I tried to find some other car play apps but I dont want to figure them out and pay 60.00 for them. I really do not know what to do.

How do I get Apple car play?

Where do I find SYNC?

How do I know what app to get for the car I have and to know its not a subscription I have to pay for?

Apple CarPlay is a built-in feature on your iPhone and does not require a separate app or any paid subscriptions.

How to Get and Connect Apple CarPlay

Plug your iPhone into your car's USB port using a certified Apple cable, or turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi if your car supports wireless CarPlay.
CarPlay is already installed on your iPhone. You do not download it from the App Store.
Turn on Siri on your iPhone by going to Settings > Siri & Search (CarPlay requires Siri to work).
On your car’s dashboard screen, look for a CarPlay or smartphone logo and select it if it does not start automatically.

I cannot get my new home address on my car maps so I cannot plug in my address and go home, nor can I set up my home icon on my car dashboard and use it that way. The car GPS simply will not pull up my address. I was able to somehow add it to apple and google maps, but can’t get those on my car so as far as navigation, my car does not recognize my address- even when I am parked in my car/garage.

I tried the cable and I could talk to Siri while it was plugged in. There was a car icon that came up on my screen on the phone for one second but all I could do was ask Siri to look up my address and all I get is I don’t know where you are, try again, pick from a list of wrong addresses.

I have had to add a nearby address of someone else as my home address in my car for now. Which is not what I want to do. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Mail does find its way to my home so someone knows where we live. It’s “new construction” but we have been here for almost a year and the house was built in 2025.
