Has anyone else been shortchanged publishing to Apple Books?

Today I uploaded a short book to itunesconnect.apple.com to see if my work is salable. Without any explicit warning or my knowing permission, Apple immediately put my book up on 25 stores as "Tier 0 (free)". I can find no way either to offer it for sale, or even to delete the book.

I consider this to be deceptive, unethical and a violation of my copyright.

It was even difficult trying to contact Apple via its online form, producing "Error, not authorized".

Has anyone had a similar experience? Did you find a resolution?

Go to My Books in iTunes Connect and choose your book. On the left side of the screen is where you choose the price under the header Rights and Pricing. You can also choose to remove your book from the store there.

You also need to agree to the Free and Paid Books agreement. It works the same way for apps submitted. If you don't set the price and the countries yourself before publishing the book, you will just get the default settings.

I assume when you set up your account you provided your tax and banking information, if not you may want to start from the beginning.
