Writing tools after upgrading to macOS 27

I have been using the writing tools in Pages for several months—most notably proofread. After upgrading to Golden Gate, they now appear in the Siri AI popup. This would be fine except it doesn't work right anymore! It used to point out what the error is (insert a comma, use a semicolon, etc.), and if there are multiple errors, it misses most of them.

While Siri is on, all references to writing tools within Pages are gone. If I turn Siri off in System Settings, it behaves as it did before, and yes, it catches errors that Siri missed. It's a shame—I like the new interface, but it appears that it still needs work.

That sounds like the new Siri AI integration rather than the old Writing Tools workflow.

I’d try selecting the text, Control-clicking it, then choosing Writing Tools > Show Writing Tools > Proofread. Apple still documents that method in macOS 27, and you can use the Next/Previous controls to review each change and its explanation.

If Proofread is still consistently missing errors that it caught before the upgrade, I’d treat that as a macOS 27 behavior/regression rather than a Pages document problem. Pages’ regular Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Check Grammar With Spelling is also worth using as a fallback.
