Bottom speaker not working after iOS 27 update

Nothing's impossible but it's not very likely the update caused a speaker to stop working. Again, if it did, this forum would be blown up with complaints.

After you updated your iPhone, did you Force Restart? I do this after every iOS update --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Try that and see if it resolves. If it doesn't, you'll need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and service options/costs --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

As Jeff correctly suggests, there is only one speaker on the bottom of the phone and one at the top of the phone so you can hear callers. This can't be an update issue. If it was, this forum would be blown up with people complaining, but it's not.

I would open Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visual > go down the page to Balance and make sure the slider is in the middle at 0.00.

It can be. The thermal stress of any heavy  software action including an update can trigger an already failing hardware component to fail completely. Fact. Nobody's fault.

The last straw breaks the camel's back. 

If after force restart it is no better have Apple look at it.

Are you sure the audio source has sound on both channels? That’s tricked me before listening to stereo and the recording on has sound on one channel.

Which model iPhone? You’re aware that there is only one speaker on the bottom, correct? The other set of perforations are for microphone.

it's not a general issue my iphone17pro plays just fine

so maybe it's not something with the software?

I have the same problem and the same phone. iPhone 13 Pro
