iMac Mail app: 'Access Denied' error when setting up Sky/Yahoo email

I have a 2024 iMac and I have been trying to set up a Sky/Yahoo email account.

I have tried various routes. In the mail application itself, I have tried the drop-down menu and selected the 'add account' option. That takes me to a window inviting me to insert the email address. I can either press 'Continue" or there is some blue text below the box for the email address which will take me to the menu for the main providers.

If I do not go straight for the Continue button I select Yahoo and this takes me to a small window. It is badged up as Yahoo. The email address is already pre-populated. There is a button to continue which takes me to another page which asks for the password which I insert.

I am pretty sure of the password as the account is set up on other devices.

I then get a message informing me that Access is denied. The details of that message are below.

I have had four or five conversations with Sky since the 9th of September 2026 and the short story there is that they are puzzled.

I would be grateful for guidance as to how I can navigate around this problem.
