Simple one. What on earth has happened to my voice over? Its all gone grey. This has happened a couple of times. I cannot hear it at all in playback . Take a look . Notice the Audio file has gone red

In the first place you should delete the preferences. Hold down the Option and Command keys as you launch FCP and click the Delete button in the window that opens.
If that doesn't work your clip may have lost its connection . . . make sure that any external drive it is on has been connected.
