Grid pattern appears in iPhone 18 recorded videos

I’ve been having this same issue but been too lazy to write about it. It happened to me and I notice it’s particularly videos that are recorded with my front camera. I was going to go to Apple about it but decided to restart my phone and it went away. I thought that would be the fix but ever so often it comes back and I have to reset it again.

I had this problem with my iPhone 17 after updating, I restarted the iPhone and it disappeared

Same here. After the update all 4K videos have a green pattern. But it can be fix by restarting the phone.

Same issue on the 18 w/ iOS 27. It goes away the moment I zoom a bit into a video.

My daughters 4k videos only when she views them on her new iPhone 18 pro. If she sends the video to me, I don’t see the green grid and I also have a new iPhone 18 pro. If I take a 4k video I don’t see any green grid but if I send to her she then sees it. So something to do with viewing only and not in the video at all which is good but seems like a software issue? Here’s a screenshot she created to show the “pattern” of green grid lines.

Have you tried restarting your iPhone 18 Pro? A restart often fixes this problem. It may be that your daughter’s device has never been rebooted.

In my case restarting it is only a temporary fix

I’m at the store and the apple person said they’ll have to exchange my phone. I got the 18 pro a couple days ago :(

Is the grid visible on a Mac or Windows PC?

After a restart it goes away but comes back in a day or two
