Home app not showing recorded clips on Mac and iPad after update

Hello!

I have a Mac Studio M2 Ultra (128GB memory and 490GB of empty storage space). iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad Pro M5. I recently updated to MacOS, iOS and iPad OS 27.0. I am on the iCloud+ 2TB plan. I use an Apple TV 4K (2021 version) as my hub.

Ever since these 27.0 updates, the Home app has not been showing large blocks of recorded clips in both the Mac and the iPad. I have five Eve cameras, only two of which are set to stream and record and the other three cameras are set to just stream. I don't have Siri AI enabled on any one of them.

As an example, in MacOS one of the two cameras set to stream and record shows clips up to 9/18 at 7:03PM and then the next clip visible skips to 9/18 at 11:24PM. All the recorder clips in between these two times are not visible. However on my iPhone the skipped recorded clips (many of them) are visible.

On the iPad, there are also several blocks of different missing recorded clips.

This same issue is seen on both of the Eve cams set to stream and record, on both the Mac and the iPad.

On my iPhone, all the recorded clips appear to be visible, so I can only assume that this is a bug in the Home app in macOS 27.0 and iPadOS.

Is anyone else also having this same issue?

Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated!

Thank you!

Since the missing clips are visible on your iPhone, the cameras and HomeKit Secure Video are apparently recording and uploading them. The fact that different clips are missing on the Mac and iPad points more toward a Home app/iCloud display or sync issue on those devices.

I’d start with a restart of the Mac and iPad, and also restart the Apple TV home hub. I wouldn’t remove the cameras, delete the Home, or sign out of iCloud at this point.

Apple confirms that the same HomeKit Secure Video recordings should be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac: Set up HomeKit Secure Video on all your devices - Apple Support

If the gaps remain while the iPhone continues to show those exact clips, I’d report it to Apple as a macOS/iPadOS 27 Home app issue. That detail would help narrow it down.

I just discovered that I have the same issue on my M4 Pro Mac mini on macOS 27 - my iPhone 17 Pro, iPad mini (A17 Pro), and M2 iPad Air (all updated to the 27 OS) have a bunch of clips from yesterday (Sunday) and overnight last night, but my Mac skips from Saturday night to 7am this morning (Monday). I have the 2TB iCloud plan, and have not turned Siri AI on for any of my cameras.

I've done a hard reboot of all my devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV 4K) several times. Regardless, the missing recorded camera clips keep occurring on a daily basis on both the Mac and iPad. The time between the missing clips may be as much as 24 hours.

I am certain that this never happened in macOS or iPadOS version 26.6.

I am planning to upgrade my Apple TV 4K hub (2021 version) as soon as a new one is announced. Maybe the new one with a faster processor and increased memory will solve this issue.

The updated Home app is disappointing, to say the least, even with Siri AI enabled.
