Why do apple make buying a phone so hard

Why do apple make it so difficult to actually buy a new phone. Didn’t pre order but decided to wait until after the initial hype.

have been trying to change my current 14 pro to a 18 pro max, constantly out of stock for collection 2 week wait for delivery. I want to collect, makes the trade in less of a hassle. Popped in to local store, told had stock Friday but for walk in only, I work during the week and nearest shop is 1/2 an hours drive.

how hard can it be to implement a notification system to advise when available, making it a mission to buy the new phone is a great way to turn customers on to other manufacturers.

They don't. They make it incredibly easy. They have a pre-order system which allows buyers to avoid the risk that new devices will be so popular that they might be hard to get in the weeks after the launch. You chose not to bother pre-ordering.

They have a system. They notified you that they would have stock on Friday.

There's also nothing to stop you calling your local shop when you're free and asking if they have any in stock.
