Apple Podcast App Always Refreshes Back to the Home Screen

I have been having a problem with the Apple Podcast app.

The app constantly refreshes so if I am looking at Saved Episodes, switch to another app (not closing the Podcast app) then return to it a few minutes later, the screen refreshes and returns to the Home Screen. This happening only on my iPhone. My iPad is fine so I assume there is a setting somewhere but I cannot find it. I have tried turning off Background App Refresh.
