iPhone 18 Pro order cancelled after payment — Apple Noida store & helpline have no explanation

I need help understanding what happened with my order (***) for an iPhone 18 Pro 512GB with a trade-in, placed in-store at Apple Noida (DLF Mall of India) on 21 Sept 2026.

I completed the purchase in person and was told to come back for pickup between 16:00–16:15. When I arrived on time, I was told the order had been cancelled — with no explanation. I ended up waiting at the store for close to 3 hours while staff tried to figure out what happened.

My credit card was charged the full ₹1,66,900. When I finally got through to the Apple helpline, the representative could only vaguely say that Apple doesn't allow purchasing more than 2 Apple products per Apple ID in a year — something I was never told at any point before or during the purchase.

To make it worse:

  • The order doesn't show up anywhere in my Apple ID order history.
  • The order status page just vaguely says a refund "may" have been issued if I already paid — no confirmation, no reference number.
  • The store manager had no idea why the order was cancelled either.

Has anyone else run into this "2 products a year" limit? Is this a real, documented Apple policy, or something being applied inconsistently? And more importantly — has anyone successfully gotten a refund confirmation and resolution after something like this? Any guidance on escalating this properly within Apple would help.
