Thanks for the reply Camelot - I figured that would be the case.
As a 2023 Mac Mini user, I still use my perfectly good Windows keyboard and monitor that I have had for several years. They have served me well and I have to admit I never really liked the Apple keyboards I tried. As an old school mainframe operator and programmer who learned early on (and painfully a few times) the value of Saving every so often while in the middle of a task so as to not lose what one was working on in case of power loss, I am still in the habit of clicking that save button before exiting. I know - it isn't needed but it’s a hard habit to break (cue Chicago....).
I should also add that I do like to take all reasonable steps possible to make my work environment conform to my needs, uses and quirks - however irrational (and unneeded) they may be.... A good (positive) example of this occurred when I learned (via this forum) I could increase the number of items shown in the Open Recent command - that was helpful to me.
