Siri AI on iPhone 16 Pro fails conversational requests after iOS 27.0 update
Update – iOS 27.0 / Siri AI still fails after completing Siri support installation
I have now performed additional tests.
My iPhone is an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 27.0.
Apple Intelligence is installed and Siri shows:
“Powered by Apple Intelligence.”
Initially, Apple Intelligence showed 12.99 GB in iPhone Storage. After changing Siri from English (US) to English (UK), the Apple Intelligence size changed to 6.52 GB, and Siri displayed:
“Adding support for Siri is in progress. Siri will be unavailable until the update is complete.”
I left the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and power and waited until the “Adding support for Siri” message disappeared.
After the installation completed, Siri still failed with the same problem.
Tests in the Siri App:
• “What time is it?” → Siri answers correctly with the current time.
• “What is 2 + 2?” → “Sorry, there’s something wrong. Please try again.”
• “What is the capital of France?” → “Sorry, something’s gone wrong. Please try again.”
• “Tell me a joke” → “We’ve had a problem. Please try again.”
I have also already tried:
• iOS 27.0 update through iTunes on Windows 11 (Update, not Restore)
• Network Settings reset
• Restarting the iPhone
• Region set to United States
• English (United States) language
• English (United States) Siri language
• Apple Account / Media & Purchases using my US Apple Account
• VPN completely disabled
• AdGuard completely disabled
• Waiting for the Siri AI waitlist
• Leaving the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and power while Siri support was being installed
The Siri AI interface and Siri App are present, Apple Intelligence is installed, and Siri is enabled.
However, conversational requests continue to fail while a basic local request such as checking the current time works normally.
Has anyone with iOS 27.0 experienced the same behavior, where Siri AI is activated and the Siri App is available, but even a simple calculation such as “What is 2 + 2?” returns an error?
