Apple, Please Help – Repair Delayed for Over 40 Days

My MacBook Pro M4 has been with the Apple Authorized Service Center since 10 August 2026. Apple approved an exception for free repair, but it has now been over 40 days, and the required part ETA keeps getting delayed every week.

  • Job Sheet / Case ID: ***
  • Apple Repair ID: ***

This delay has seriously affected my work, and I have lost my job because I have been without my MacBook for so long.

Apple, please help escalate my case and provide a resolution as soon as possible.

This is a user-to-user forum. We are not Apple employees, and Apple itself will not respond here.

I suggest contacting Apple Support directly, starting here -> Contact - Official Apple Support

If the Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) is actually performing the repair in their own shop, then ask them to contact Apple to get an ETA on the backordered part. After four weeks Apple allows an AASP to perform this inquiry, but don't expect a whole lot either since Apple has never been able to give much of an ETA for backordered parts. I have occasionaly found that some repairs do literally get stuck in Apple's system and an inquiry is sometimes the only way to get them unstuck.

I do know that some parts are currently taking about three weeks to ship.....this has been an issue for about six months (personal experience).

As @leroydouglas mentions......if you cannot be without a device, then you should definitely have a spare device to use temporarily. That spare device may not be as capable, but it should be capable enough so you can limp by until your main device can be repaired or replaced. Buying a new device before the old one breaks or becomes too outdated is one way to have a spare backup device. It should be factored into & considered part of the job and business expenses.

Sounds like you need backup hardware if the computer is mission critical to your work...

Buy another mac, restore your files from you backup and move forward if there is an issue with the repair.

Certainly nothing can be done in this user to user support community.
