Screen won’t rotate to landscape on iPhone 18 Pro Max (iOS 27)

I’m experiencing a screen orientation issue on my iPhone 18 Pro Max running iOS 27.

The problem is:

Portrait Orientation Lock is turned off.
When I open the YouTube app and play a video, rotating the phone to landscape does not rotate the video. It remains in portrait mode. Even same for in photos

If you already performed (to no avail) all the steps provided in this support article:--> Rotate the screen on your iPhone or iPod touch , try checking the display zoom in Settings>Display & Brightness>Display Zoom and set it to Default. When done, restart your iPhone again.

I had this problem as well. Today, I was at a 7Eleven checkout counter where the cashier had just scanned my items. Went to pay, but my iPhone 18 Pro was stuck on a rotated Messages app. Rotation lock not enabled. So, everyone in line behind me had to wait while I rebooted the phone. A bit embarrassing. This shouldn’t happen.
