iOS 27 update breaks PDF export of notes with tables in Notes app

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way the Notes app now handles PDF exports after the latest iOS update.

Before this update, exporting a note containing tables was simple and seamless. I could simply select Print, and the entire note would be converted into a PDF while preserving the tables exactly as they appeared. It was quick, convenient, and required no additional steps or involving other apps.

Now, the tables disappear when I try to export the note, forcing me to find workarounds such as transferring the note to Pages or another application just to create a PDF that previously could be generated directly from Notes. This adds unnecessary steps, takes considerably more time, and disrupts my workflow.

What makes this situation even more frustrating is that many of the notes I use contain inventory information and are shared through collaborations with other employees. These employees depend on those notes and the information contained in them to have the necessary items and inventory ready on time for their scheduled dates. Having to transfer the information to another application and go through additional steps creates unnecessary delays and can affect the timing of the entire process.

What is especially disappointing is that this functionality worked perfectly before the update. I don’t understand why a feature that was already simple and functional has now become significantly more complicated. For me, this is a major inconvenience and a step backward in terms of usability and efficiency.

I sincerely hope Apple will look into this issue and restore the previous PDF export functionality, allowing tables to remain intact when using Print or Markup. I should not have to move my notes to another application just to accomplish something that Notes previously handled effortlessly.

This may seem like a small change, but when Notes is being used as part of a daily workflow and is shared with multiple people who rely on that information, the additional steps and delays make a significant difference.

Thank you for taking the time to address this issue. I really hope this can be corrected in a future update.

There is no mention of the Notes App on About iOS 27 Updates - Apple Support (IN)

Not every issue an individual encounters on their device can be attributed to an iOS update. If the update itself were the root cause, then every device running that same version of iOS would exhibit the identical problem. In such a scenario, the forums would be flooded with countless posts reporting the same malfunction, creating an unmistakable wave of complaints that no one could possibly overlook. The absence of such widespread reports strongly indicates that the issue is not systemic, but rather specific to the device in question.

Where were the Notes? The pic below is self-explanatory.

The Notes app on an iPhone does not treat all Notes accounts in the same way. There is an important distinction between iCloud Notes, On My iPhone Notes, and Notes associated with email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, or Outlook that have been added to the iOS Notes app.

iCloud Notes and On My iPhone Notes are native Apple Notes storage locations and support the full range of features provided by the Apple Notes app, although some features can still depend on the specific note type or iOS version. iCloud Notes are synchronized through iCloud across devices signed in to the same Apple Account with Notes enabled, while On My iPhone notes remain stored locally on that particular iPhone.

In contrast, when you add a Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, or Outlook account to the iPhone and enable Notes, the Notes app is essentially providing an interface to the Notes service supplied by that email provider. These accounts do not necessarily support the same Notes features, organization, synchronization behavior, or data structure as Apple Notes.

For example, features available with iCloud or On My iPhone Notes may not be available, or may behave differently, when the note is stored under an email account. Depending on the provider, you may encounter differences involving folders, attachments, formatting, checklists, scanning, collaboration, locking, tags, smart folders, sharing, and synchronization.

Therefore, simply seeing Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, or Outlook under Settings > Apps > Notes > Notes Accounts does not mean that those accounts provide an Apple Notes experience equivalent to iCloud Notes.

The important point is that the iOS Notes app is a common interface for several different Notes storage services; it does not make those services identical. The capabilities of a note are ultimately determined by the account and service where that note is stored.

If you require the full Apple Notes feature set and consistent synchronization across Apple devices, iCloud Notes is generally the appropriate storage location. If you use Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, or Outlook for Notes, you should check the respective provider's capabilities rather than assuming that every Apple Notes feature will be supported.

Absolutely not! My coworkers—some of whom still haven't updated to iOS 27, yet have access to the same notes containing tables—*can* still export the tables as usual; they’re afraid to switch to iOS 27 because they don't want to break that feature. Every single one of us who installed the new update is already experiencing problems. So, it’s not just an issue with "certain devices."
