apple iphone 18 pro max burgundy camera case got discoloration

Received my new apple iphone 18 pro max burgundy around camera back case got discoloration. This is a manufacturing defect? What options I have other than going Apple Store to check it out?

It's nothing more than body oil from your fingers, which is why it doesn't appear close to or between the raised lenses. I had the same situation and it easily comes off with an alcohol wipe, like you use to clean eyeglasses. It will be a never ending battle. It's not a defect, but if it bothers you, then you need to return it within 14 days of purchase and buy another color.

Discussions with Apple, either in person or electronically, are your only options. Apple will not see your concern here.


If you bought directly from Apple, either in one of their physical stores or the Apple Online Store, you have 14 calendar days to return the phone with no questions asked. If you bought from a reseller or carrier, their return policies apply.


I cannot tell enough from the image to judge the nature of the discoloration. Some need s to do a physical exam.
