Additionally, Best Buy will generally accept any electronics for recycling.

You don't say what "this" device is, but in any case, you would first want to reset it so all or your personal data is removed, and is no longer connected to your Apple ID.

After following these steps, you can do what you want with it. If you have no desire to sell, trade or give it away, do not just put it in the trash. Bring the device to a recycling center.
