Inconsistent spacing in Mail app and iCloud Mail

Hello, these uneven spaces have been bothering me constantly whenever I check my emails, both on my phone and on iCloud Web.

I understand that the main purpose of this space is to leave room for the “new/unread email” indicator when it appears. However, when there is no indicator, it creates an unnecessarily large and uneven gap.

I think this could be easily fixed by moving the indicator to the top-right of the icon or placing it below the icon. That way, the box would fit properly within its wrapper instead of leaving this awkward empty space.
