Mac Messages app shows phone numbers for synced contacts

I've had this issue for a while and never got the chance to fix it. My contacts and messages are synced, but the contacts saved on my phone are just phone numbers on my Mac on the Messages app. I searched up everywhere and it says to sync it, but it is.
