How do I resolve the previous owner's Apple ID issue on my iPhone 6s Plus for app updates and OTP codes?

The problem is you bought an iPhone which was NOT prepared properly for you, a new user. At some point, your phone will certainly go into Activation Lock and when that happens you'll be locked out of the phone FOREVER, unless you can reach the previous owner and they remove the phone from their account.
