iOS 27 update causing unreliable Meross garage doors and HomePod recognition issues
Since updating my iPhone to iOS 27, I have experienced recurring problems with the Home app and my HomePods. My main concern is the reliability of my garage-door controls.
My Meross garage-door opening system worked reliably for more than a year and a half before this update. Since the update, the doors intermittently show “No Response” in the Home app. Sometimes they reconnect on their own hours later, without my doing anything. They may then work briefly, only to become unresponsive again after I open or close a door.
This is particularly concerning when I am away from home and need to open or close the garage doors remotely. I need to be able to rely on this feature.
I have also experienced inconsistent responses from my HomePods. They sometimes fail to recognize me or carry out personal requests, even though voice recognition and access to my Apple ID information are enabled.
For example, when I ask, “Where is my iPhone?” one HomePod may ask who I am and then say it is having trouble finding my phone—even though the phone is nearby. Yet the HomePod in the next room responds to the same request and successfully pings my iPhone within seconds.
Both issues began after the iOS 27 update. I cannot confirm that the update caused them, but the timing is clear, particularly with the previously reliable garage-door system.
Has anyone else experienced these problems? Is there a known issue or a lasting fix? I would especially appreciate guidance on restoring reliable garage-door access through Apple Home.
The attached screenshot shows the most recent “No Response” issue. Earlier, I used Siri on my iPhone to open both the left and right garage doors without any trouble. After completing some yard work, I tried using Siri again, but neither door responded. The screenshot shows their status in the Home app at that time.
