I can't produce panoramas with any app or program

I am having real frustration with Panorama images. I have been using a program called Affinity (similar to Photoshop) for about 2 years with reasonable panorama results. This week the Panorama function stopped working, only this function, as everything else in Affinity's complex programs works fine. I am in the process of discussion with Affinity about it and they are doing their level best to help, but as yet, no solution. In the meantime, I thought I'd try Hugin, widely reputed to be the best of the free Panorama Stitcher apps. After going through the normal Apple security, I uploaded it successfully but it too fails to work, with the Activity Monitor stating it, like Affinity, is 'Not responding'. I am clueless as to why all this is happening. I am using the lates OS (Sequoia 15.8), the latest version of Affinity (2). I have 8GB of RAM, ample for the tasks, the Graphics card has not suggested any issues, as I have been creating panoramas for a long time, using .DNG raw files, accepted by Affinity.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?
