How to update from iOS 15.8 to iOS 18 on iPhone?

Use a computer or the Software Update function in Settings. If you encounter an issue other than the two listed below, describe it.

An iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or iPhone SE 1 isn't capable of 16 or above; they require an A11 or better CPU.

Apple is no longer signing 18 for models capable of 26 or above.

Open Settings ➢ General ➢ Software Update.

If you get the message; "iOS is up to date", then your iPhone has reached the end-of-life support for Software Updates to the latest iOS operating system, depriving you of new features created many years ago.

Many modern apps are not compatible, limiting the usability of your device.

Which iPhone do you have? If it is an iPhone 6s, 7, 7 Plus, or SE (1st generation), iOS 15 is the end of the line. You can update to the latest release of iOS 15, but not to iOS 18.

You need an iPhone XS, XS Max, or XR to update to iOS 18. Or a later model to update beyond iOS 18, to iOS 26 or 27.
