Apple Watch readiness score & night shift workers

Does the apple watch readiness score "reset" at a certain time? I'm a night shift worker, so I'm sleeping ~9am-5pm & I have my sleep schedule set up to match. Today I got a readiness score but ~3am, it now says that I need to sleep to get a score but I already slept and I'm only part way through my day.

Yes — the Readiness score can change during the day, rather than simply resetting at midnight. Apple says it updates based on activity, naps, and daytime heart rate.

For a night-shift schedule, your 9am–5pm sleep should still be recorded as sleep, but Apple’s documentation doesn’t specifically say that Readiness follows a night-worker’s personal “day” or resets at the end of their sleep schedule. So seeing “sleep to get a score” around 3am may be related to how watchOS defines the current day rather than your actual work/sleep cycle.
