Is Apple Home integration compatible with Google/Nest, Eufy/Anker, and Tuya/Smart Life devices?

Apple Home integration - am a HUGE Apple user, and recently have begun ditching almost all Google stuff. I decided to take a look at the last piece, Google Home. In reviewing various things, and visiting an Apple store, was seeing “oh, no problem”…while every turn I take ends up saying “well, no direct integration”. My main things are: Google/Nest ( thermostat and camera), several Eufy/Anker cameras, and a slew of “Tuya/Smart Life” plugs.

So, quickly learned virtually none of these had a simple solution, but all websites I checked said, again, “no problem”, the simplest, most reliable solution was a 100% software one called “Addtohomekit”, which indeed was very, shall we say “affordable”, and likewise, to above, also hyped “easy”. And, yet when I finally got this set up, and started putting in my three types of smart home devices, had a web page pop up telling me to spend over $100 for a HARDWARE “bridge”.

Am I missing something, or is this simply a sign of the Apple Home solution simply not able to gain a firm enough footing as a “smart home” enabler to gain a much larger share of 3rd party apps? Will be OK to hear this is the case and give up on my dreams of getting rid of Google Home!
