Logic Pro automation writes late from external control surfaces

Logic's Automation write from external control surfaces is writing about 1 second LATE. SSL UF8 user here, but it happens with any Mackie Protocol surface. In a mix session when latency inducing plugins are active in the session, the automation lags significanty. Example, riding the fader on a vocal. I have to manually drag the automation data to the left to get it to line up with the intended automation move.

I understand it is somewhat unavoidable to induce latency BUT Logic product engineers could easily add a feature that allows you to set a latency-based nudge value to live recorded automation moves - or even easier - allow users to set a specific nudge value OTHER than the pre-determined nudge values available. That way, we could measure the difference, customize our nudge value and correct it with a keystroke, rather than having to drag and guess.
